INTERIM CEO FOR PACIFIC NATIONAL

Don Telford has been appointed as the interim CEO of Pacific National, bringing his extensive experience as Group Director Toll Logistics to the rail entity.

Mr Telford said he welcomed his new role and looked forward to improving the Pacific National business.

“After months of uncertainty, Pacific National can now set some clear goals to achieve better results for its customers,” Mr Telford said.

At today’s Pacific National Board meeting the Directors considered the Joint Australian and Tasmanian Government Funding package for Tasmanian Rail.

“The Board supports the package and acknowledges the consideration given by both Governments.

I have requested a meeting with the Tasmanian Premier to discuss moving the proposal forward as soon as possible,” Mr Telford said.

Pacific National Chairman Paul Little said he welcomed this important decision.

“Toll has always supported an agreement with the Tasmanian government so I am pleased that Pacific National can now move forward in order to secure the future of the Tasmanian rail network,” Mr Little said.
